Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: December 18, 2025
A4CV is built with privacy as a core principle. Your resume data is stored locally in your browser and never uploaded to a server. This policy explains what data is collected (very little) and how it's handled.
What data we collect
A4CV does not collect personal information. Your resume content is stored in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to our servers. We use privacy-focused analytics (Plausible) to track page views and basic usage patterns — no cookies, no tracking scripts, no personal identifiers.
Local storage
Your resume data is stored in your browser using localStorage. This means your content stays on your device and is never uploaded. If you clear your browser data or use a different device, you'll need to export and import your resume manually.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand how people use A4CV. Plausible is privacy-focused: no cookies, no tracking across sites, no personal data collection. It gives us aggregated insights (like page views and referrers) without identifying individual users.
Cookies
A4CV does not use cookies for tracking. The only cookies used are essential for the site's functionality (e.g., language preference).
Third-party services
A4CV does not share your data with third parties. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may log request metadata (IP address, user agent) for infrastructure purposes — but we do not access or use this data.
Data retention
Since your resume is stored locally, you control retention. Delete your browser's localStorage to remove your data. We do not store resume content on our servers.
Your rights
Because your data is stored locally and never uploaded, you have full control. Export your resume as JSON to back it up, or clear your browser data to delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, we'll post the new version on this page with an updated effective date.
